The Kallanai, or Grand Anicut, is an ancient dam built over 1,300 years ago to manage the Kaveri River's water for farming. Anicut takes inspiration from this idea, aiming to create lasting value for the companies it invests in. Starting in September 2015, Anicut set out to help business owners and grow the economy. They launched their first Private Credit Fund in 2016, started equity investing with a Seed Fund in 2020, and later got into Growth Equity and Late-stage investments. Through the years, Anicut has grown into a well-regarded investment firm in India. Currently, they manage over ₹3,500 crore in assets across different debt and equity investment types.
