Investec, a banking and wealth management group from both the UK and South Africa, is listed on the stock exchanges in London and Johannesburg. It was established in 1974 in Johannesburg, offering different financial products, like private and investment banking, plus wealth management. Their clients are in Europe, Southern Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region. Investec is known for its unusual branding and puts clients first, centering on specific markets where they can grow and stay relevant. By the end of 2025, they had around 8,200 employees worldwide and made £1.91 billion in 2024. They were also one of the first big banks in South Africa to get a license to trade renewable energy.
