A.K. Mittal

A.K. Mittal, a Chartered Accountant, began his career as an apprentice, handling Direct Tax issues at a Delhi law firm. He became a successful lawyer, managing key cases for well-known clients. By 1983, Mr. Mittal had founded his own Chartered Accountancy firm in Delhi. Seeing the possibilities in debt markets and their role in India's growing economy, Mr. Mittal wanted to make debt markets more accessible. With the goal of “A Bond in Every Hand,” he started A.K. Capital Services Ltd. in October 1993, listing it on the BSE in 1995. The company became a Category I Merchant Banker with SEBI in April 1998. With Mr. Mittal's guidance, A.K. Capital Services Ltd. expanded rapidly and entered almost all areas of debt capital markets. As the economy increasingly focuses on fixed income markets for global growth, Mr. Mittal is keen on bringing new ideas that benefit everyone involved: borrowers/issuers, investors/lenders, regulators, and intermediaries.
