Overweight Sectors

Capital Goods

  • Expected to benefit from multiple tailwinds, including global diversification of supply chains (China + 1 strategy), indigenization push, favorable policies (PLI scheme) and infrastructure and power drive.
  • These structural drivers provide long-term growth visibility.

Construction materials

  • Cement sector is expected to be a direct beneficiary of increasing infrastructure investments, new factory buildouts and construction of residential & commercial real estate.
  • The sector has strong long-term growth potential and remains a good way to play the growing fixed capital formation in the country.

Oil Gas & Consumable Fuels

  • The entire energy value chain will benefit from higher economic growth and at appropriate valuations, we are positive on all its various segments
  • Traditional fuels will grow along with increasing contribution of gas in the energy mix

Construction

  • Benefit from significant government investments and favourable policies across sectors, including power, highways, airports, oil & gas, mining, etc.
  • Potential private sector capex cycle pick-up to give a boost.
  • A large and growing opportunity in the overseas markets, which Indian companies can participate in by leveraging their cost advantages.

Power

  • Power requirements will rise as manufacturing, which is more power intensive than agriculture, increases its share in India’s economic output
  • Utilities are investing in both thermal and renewable sectors given the forecasted demand and few are also increasing their distribution business, which offers a huge growth opportunity

Underweight Sectors

Lighthouse is a focused strategy with investments only in three or four themes at a time and hence we are underweight on all sectors that are not associated with such themes.
