Fund Purpose
The primary investment objective of the S64 Multicap strategy is the sustainable creation of long-term investor wealth by investing across a diversified selection of publicly listed Indian equities. By operating without rigid market capitalization constraints, the strategy maintains a fluid allocation framework across large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap companies. The investment approach focuses on capturing non-linear structural compounding opportunities within the Indian economic ecosystem, aiming to compound capital at high rates of return over extended horizons while maintaining strict downside risk parameters.
Fund Philosophy
Exponential Wealth Compounding via Value Core
The strategy’s operational mindset is anchored to the classic story of the chessboard and doubling rice grains, where the 64th square creates massive non-linear expansion. Capital allocation targets steady corporate compounders that are temporarily out of market favor, securing large asymmetric upside as value discovery plays out.
High Conviction Portfolio Concentration
Rather than diluting returns across dozens of minor corporate stakes, the investment approach focuses on picking the right publicly listed businesses and holding tight. This high-conviction structure ensures that winning choices move the performance needle significantly, maximizing the mathematical impact of compounding.
Multi-Cap Agnosticism and Market Adaptability
The portfolio is intentionally designed to bypass strict investment buckets, meaning capital can move freely across large, mid, or small companies. It dynamically pivots where asymmetric risk-reward profiles appear healthiest, letting the underlying corporate fundamentals direct tactical sizing instead of index constraints.
Margin of Safety and Underappreciated Strengths
True wealth creation requires minimizing structural capital loss. The screening process actively targets businesses exhibiting stable earnings, clean balance sheets, and competitive moats that are priced at deep discounts, ensuring a solid margin of safety at entry.
Patient Long-Term Capital Commitments
Short-term stock fluctuations are viewed as noise rather than permanent loss indicators. The philosophy relies on long-term ownership, allowing underappreciated business models the multi-year runway required to compound operational earnings, expand return on equity, and drive share price growth.

The name is inspired by the ancient fable of the chessboard and the rice grains, where doubling a single grain on each subsequent square results in over 18 quintillion grains by the 64th square. The firm utilizes this concept to reflect its commitment to non-linear wealth generation through patient capital compounding.
The performance fee model utilizes a 10% hurdle rate, which means profit-sharing triggers only after the portfolio exceeds a 10% annualized return threshold. Above this hurdle, a performance-linked sharing rate of either 12% or 15% is applied, depending on the specific onboarding tier chosen by the investor.
To encourage long-term investing and protect the portfolio from short-term liquidity shocks, a tiered exit load applies: 1.5% if redeemed within the first year, dropping to 1.0% during the second year, and 0.5% in the third year. No exit load is levied on redemptions after three years.
By operating as a multicap mandate, the portfolio manager can shift assets defensively during high-risk cycles. While small and mid-caps drive aggressive growth during bull runs, capital can be allocated into liquid, cash-rich large-caps or steady value compounders when macro indicators signal broader economic stress.
The strategy benchmarks against the BSE 500 Total Returns Index (TRI). This index tracks the top 500 companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange, covering major economic sectors and all market capitalization tiers, providing a comprehensive hurdle for evaluating true active alpha.
