About Company

InCred Asset Management

InCred Asset Management, established in 2020, is the fund management arm of the unicorn InCred Group. Founded by Bhupinder Singh, a former Deutsche Bank executive, the firm manages approximately ₹1,284 crore in its Asset Management (AMC) division as of January 2026. It provides a diverse range of investment solutions, including Portfolio Management Services (PMS) and Alternative Investment Funds (AIF), specializing in long-only equities, structured credit, and private equity. Its investment philosophy centers on a "Great, Good, and Bad" framework—buying high-quality businesses at fair valuations or good businesses at a discount while strictly avoiding "bad" companies. Key strategies include the InCred Healthcare Portfolio and Multi-Cap funds, led by seasoned professionals like CIO Aditya Khemka.

What is InCred Multicap Portfolio?

The InCred Multicap Portfolio is a sector- and market-cap-agnostic Portfolio Management Service from InCred Asset Management that invests across large-, mid- and small-cap Indian equities. Rather than restricting the portfolio to a particular market-cap segment, the strategy follows bottom-up stock selection and looks for businesses where valuation, growth potential and business quality offer an attractive risk-reward opportunity.

A key part of the strategy is identifying companies at potential market cap graduation points — businesses that may move from small-cap to mid-cap, mid-cap to large-cap or large-cap to larger established companies as their earnings and market opportunity develop.

The portfolio follows InCred's internal “Great, Good, Bad” framework: buy great businesses at fair valuations, buy good businesses at a discount to intrinsic value and avoid businesses where the risk-reward is unattractive. The portfolio was launched on 18 February 2021 and uses the S&P BSE 500 TRI as its benchmark.

Investors evaluating this strategy can compare it with other PMS options using ALTPORT’s guide on how to select a PMS provider before making an allocation decision.

Since performance figures such as CAGR can look different depending on the reporting method and investment period, investors should understand the difference between CAGR, XIRR and TWRR before comparing PMS returns.

Investment Themes: Value, Exports, Consumer Trends, Restructuring and MNCs

The InCred Multicap Portfolio does not depend on one fixed sector theme. Instead, the portfolio can move across sectors as valuations and business fundamentals change. Five broad investment themes form an important part of the approach.

1. Value

Market corrections can create opportunities in fundamentally sound companies trading below their historical valuation ranges. The strategy looks for businesses where earnings potential remains intact or is improving despite temporary market pressure.

It can also consider well-managed companies with strong operating metrics that have not yet attracted broad investor attention.

2. India's Increasing Export Competitiveness

India's improving infrastructure, digitisation and production-linked incentives have strengthened its appeal as a manufacturing and export base.

The strategy looks for companies with globally competitive products, strong capabilities and room to gain market share against established international players.

3. Changing Consumer Preferences

As household incomes rise, spending patterns are shifting towards healthcare, mobility, consumer durables and other lifestyle-oriented categories.

The portfolio seeks businesses operating in segments where demand can expand structurally and where the company has a differentiated value proposition.

4. Corporate Restructuring

Corporate actions can sometimes unlock value that is not immediately visible in reported valuations. These opportunities may arise through mergers, restructuring, changes in management, improved capital allocation or better access to capital.

The strategy therefore considers not only what a company earns today, but also whether changes within the business can improve future margins and return on invested capital.

5. MNCs and Niche Leaders

Multinational companies can benefit from established technology, global management expertise, access to capital and strong parent-company relationships.

The portfolio may also invest in domestic companies that occupy leadership positions in niche industries and have a long runway for expansion.

The Great, Good, Bad Framework: How InCred Selects Stocks

The Great, Good, Bad framework is central to InCred's equity investment philosophy. The idea is straightforward: a good company is not automatically a good investment if the price leaves little room for upside.

Buy: Great at Fair Value, Good at a Discount

The portfolio looks to buy:

  • Great businesses when their valuations are reasonable.
  • Good businesses when they trade at a meaningful discount to intrinsic value.
  • Avoid businesses where fundamental or valuation risks make the expected reward unattractive.

This approach creates a balance between business quality and the margin of safety available at the time of purchase.

Size: Allocate According to Conviction

Once a stock qualifies for the portfolio, its position size is determined by conviction, opportunity size and portfolio risk. Higher-conviction ideas can receive larger allocations, while position sizing also considers liquidity and concentration.

Sell: Reassess the Thesis

Selling is not simply about whether a stock has risen or fallen. The position may be reduced or exited when the original investment thesis weakens, valuation becomes unattractive, the risk-reward changes or a better opportunity emerges elsewhere.

This three-step Buy, Size, Sell process helps connect stock selection with portfolio construction rather than treating them as separate decisions.

InCred Multicap Portfolio Risk Management: Market Cap, Liquidity and Leverage Limits

Risk management is built into the portfolio construction process. The strategy historically maintained a market-cap floor of around ₹1,000 crore, limiting exposure to very small companies and the additional volatility that can come with them.

Liquidity is another important filter. The stated framework seeks to execute purchases or sales within five days without exceeding approximately 30% of a stock's daily average traded volume. This is intended to reduce the risk of the portfolio itself materially affecting market prices.

Leverage is also monitored closely. Outside financial companies, the earlier portfolio framework targeted low net debt, with reported average Debt/Equity of around 0.15. Investors should note that portfolio composition and risk metrics can change over time.

These controls do not eliminate small- and midcap volatility, concentration risk, sector concentration risk or market risk. Investors should assess their risk profile before investing in a market-cap-agnostic PMS strategy.

InCred Multicap Portfolio Holdings and Sector Allocation

The portfolio's allocation changes as the investment team identifies new opportunities. The latest official InCred factsheet available for May 2026 showed Consumer and Financials as the two largest sector allocations, with Healthcare at 9.5%.

Sector Allocation

Sector Allocation
Consumer 26.3%
Financials 25.1%
Technology 16.1%
Telecom 9.6%
Healthcare 9.5%

As of 31 May 2026. The portfolio was therefore not healthcare- or pharma-dominated at the latest available reporting date. Healthcare was nevertheless a meaningful allocation within the broader multicap strategy.

Top Holdings

Holding Allocation
Coforge Ltd 5.7%
Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Co. Ltd 5.1%
Info Edge India Ltd 4.9%
Bajaj Finserv Ltd 4.8%
JK Cement Ltd 4.8%
Bharti Hexacom Ltd 4.8%
Bharti Airtel Ltd 4.8%
HDFC Bank Ltd 4.5%
Havells India Ltd 4.5%
Eternal Ltd 4.1%
Cash & Cash Equivalent 0.5%

As of 31 May 2026. These holdings represent the model portfolio reported by InCred and can change with subsequent portfolio rebalancing.

A Note on the Portfolio's Healthcare Exposure

Healthcare has historically been an important part of the strategy. For example, the December 2025 factsheet showed 29.7% in Healthcare, while several of the portfolio's largest holdings at that time included Indraprastha Medical Corporation, Healthcare Global Enterprises and Neuland Laboratories. By May 2026, however, Healthcare had reduced to 9.5% as the portfolio's sector positioning changed.

This is worth highlighting for investors searching for an InCred Multicap pharma-focused portfolio: the Multicap strategy itself is not a dedicated pharma PMS. InCred separately offers a Healthcare Portfolio focused on pharmaceuticals, hospitals, diagnostics, insurance and other healthcare businesses.

How ALTPORT Helps Investors Evaluate InCred Multicap Portfolio PMS

Choosing a PMS is about more than looking at the latest return number. The investment philosophy, portfolio construction, manager experience, concentration levels, liquidity and risk controls all matter.

At ALTPORT, the focus is on helping investors evaluate these factors together rather than viewing a PMS in isolation. Investors can also compare PMS, mutual funds and AIFs to understand where InCred Multicap Portfolio fits within a broader investment plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about fund investments, performance, portfolio strategy, and investor services.

The InCred Multicap Portfolio follows a sector- and market-cap-agnostic approach, investing across large-, mid- and small-cap companies. Its stock selection is bottom-up and guided by the Great, Good, Bad framework. The strategy looks for great businesses at fair valuations, good businesses at discounts and avoids businesses where the risk-reward is unattractive.

As of 31 May 2026, Consumer had the highest allocation at 26.3%, followed by Financials at 25.1%. Technology accounted for 16.1%, Telecom 9.6% and Healthcare 9.5%. Sector weights can change as the portfolio is rebalanced.

The strategy uses several portfolio-level filters, including market-cap, liquidity and leverage considerations. Its framework has historically avoided very small companies, limited the proportion of daily traded volume used for transactions and favoured businesses with relatively conservative balance sheets outside financials. These measures reduce certain portfolio risks but cannot eliminate market volatility.

The portfolio can invest across market-cap segments and sectors. It looks for companies with improving fundamentals, attractive valuations, structural growth opportunities, export competitiveness, changing consumer demand or potential value unlocking through corporate restructuring. The strategy can therefore move between sectors as opportunities evolve.

The strategy has a long-term capital appreciation objective and is intended for investors who can tolerate equity-market volatility and the risks associated with concentrated PMS portfolios. A PMS should be assessed against an investor's objectives, time horizon, liquidity needs and risk tolerance rather than solely on recent returns.

The latest official InCred factsheet identifies Aditya Sood as the Fund Manager. He has more than 18 years of equity-investing experience across corporate treasury, family offices, PMS and insurance and follows a fundamentally driven, bottom-up investment approach.

The reported minimum investment is ₹50 lakh. Investors should confirm the current investment terms, fees and applicable documentation with InCred Asset Management or their PMS distributor before investing.

As of 30 June 2026, the portfolio was reported to have 23 stocks across 13 sectors. The number of holdings and sector exposure can change as the portfolio manager adjusts positions based on valuation, business fundamentals and risk-reward opportunities.
