Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about fund investments, performance, portfolio strategy, and investor services.

Compliance is determined through both sectoral and financial filters. Sectorally, the strategy avoids businesses involved in prohibited activities such as conventional banking/finance, alcohol, tobacco, gambling, and non-halal food products. Financially, it excludes companies with excessive debt-to-equity ratios or those deriving significant income from interest (Riba).

Growth at Reasonable Price (GARP) focuses on companies with consistent earnings growth that are not yet overpriced. By applying this to a Shariah-compliant universe, the portfolio manager seeks businesses with strong balance sheets and "clean" cash flows, which often aligns naturally with the debt-aversion inherent in Islamic finance.

No, the strategy follows a multi-cap approach. While it draws primarily from the Nifty 500 Shariah Index, the managers have the flexibility to invest across large, mid, and small-cap stocks, provided they pass the rigorous Shariah screening process. This allow the fund to capture niche growth opportunities in sectors like manufacturing and technology.

The strategy is subject to periodic Shariah audits and certifications. Since a company's financial ratios (like debt levels) can change every quarter, the portfolio is regularly "purified" to ensure all holdings continue to meet the required criteria. If a stock becomes non-compliant, the manager is required to exit the position within a specified timeframe.

Because the strategy avoids highly leveraged companies and focuses on fundamental business growth, it is designed for long-term wealth creation. An investment horizon of 3 to 5 years is recommended to allow the GARP themes to mature and to navigate the volatility typical of equity markets.
