Pramod Bhasin

Founding Partner - Asha Ventures

Pramod's career includes both working for companies and starting his own businesses in finance and business management all over the world.   He basically created Genpact, which became a huge business management company, back in 1997. He was in charge until 2011. The company started trading on the New York Stock Exchange in 2007 and is now a leader in its field with more than 75,000 workers in 17 countries. People think of Pramod as the person who started the business process management industry in India. While he was in charge, Genpact also got things going in China, Eastern Europe, and Latin America.   Before Genpact, he spent 25 years working for GE in the US, UK, and Asia. He used to be the head of GE Capital in India and Asia, and before that, he worked with GE Capital in Stamford, CT, in the Leveraged Buy Out group.   In September 2016, Pramod and some partners bought GE Capital's India business, which is now called Clix Capital. He's the Chairman of Clix Capital, a non-banking financial company that gives digital platforms and money-related services to businesses and customers in India.   Pramod also helped start Asha Ventures, a virtual fund that invests in social causes and advocacy. He puts money into different companies, from new ones to those that are already up and running. He also co-founded the Skills Academy, which trains young people from poor villages in job skills. The Skills Academy has trained over 50,000 students and helped most of them find work after their training.   Pramod is on the boards of DLF Ltd, SRF Ltd, and NDTV. He's also on the governing boards of ICRIER, HelpAge, and The Shri Ram School. He used to be the Chairman of Nasscom and was named IT Man of the Year by Dataquest. Pramod gives advice to Kedaara, a big private equity firm in India. He's also part of TIE-NCR.
