Alpha Alternatives Financial Services Private Limited, previously named Provincial Finance and Leasing Co Private Limited, was established on November 17, 1993. Since January 2019, it has been a part of the Alpha group as a wholly owned subsidiary of Alpha Alternatives Holdings Private Limited. The firm is registered with the Reserve Bank of India as a Non-Banking Financial Institution that does not accept public deposits and is involved in investments and lending.

The fund follows a systematic, data-driven, and rule-based long-only strategy. It employs a proprietary 16-metric algorithm that ranks all publicly traded companies in real time to eliminate human bias and emotional decision-making.
Portfolio structure
It has a 300-stock portfolio that is diversified and weighted equally. This approach is sector- and market-cap agnostic, relying on fundamental analysis to identify overlooked opportunities.

Naresh Kothari
Naresh, the Founder and Managing Partner of Alpha Alternatives, has worked in finance for over 30 years. Alpha Alternatives is a top multi-asset class alternatives platform in India and is known for its creative risk-return solutions. They have offices in India and Singapore and employ over 175 people, including more than 15 partners, offering nine different investment strategies. Before founding Alpha Alternatives, Naresh was a senior leader at Edelweiss Financial Services for 13 years. As President, he managed the Alternative Asset business and helped it grow. Over his career, Naresh has advised over 100 companies on capital market strategies and has recently served on boards to guide strategic reorganization and growth. Naresh, a fitness lover, is known for his unconventional thinking and ability to find mutually beneficial solutions. He has a PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad and a BE in Computer Science from the University of Mumbai.
